Web Development

Web Design Header

The country is going through some tough times at the moment and businesses are suffering, so now is the time to get a nice new shiny website and plan for the years ahead. Get in touch via the live chat option on our contact page or fill in the form for a no obligation quote.

Apps are hot news at the moment and everyone seems to want one. We don't develop apps as such because that would mean a huge workload and a huge invoice for our clients. What we provide is a mobile site in HTML5 that will work in all mobile phones capable of accessing the internet. You have probably seen the BBC iPlayer App? This is not an app but a shortcut to their mobile website.

Why Get A New Website?

Your website may have been designed a few years ago and could possibly do with some JQuery, CSS3 and more new tech trickery to enhance the useability. It may very well have been designed as an image and spliced up into segments then thrown up on to a webserver, not very good for search engines and even worse for blind people as their screen readers can't read it.

Why not ask us to have a look for you and see if we could offer some helpful tips or at least advise you of a direction to go in so you don't waste money in areas that don't need fixing.

WITH THE CURRENT CHANGES BEING IMPLEMENTED IN VARIOUS SEARCH ENGINES WE FEEL IT WOULD BE UNETHICAL TO TAKE ON NEW PROJECTS UNTIL IT IS FULLY UNDERSTOOD HOW THE NEW SEARCH ALGORITHMS WILL FUNCTION.

Wordpress & Joomla Header

Wordpress

Both Wordpress and Joomla are leading Content Management Systems which
together with a template can create a professional looking website at a fraction of the cost of a bespoke design. What's more, CMS allows the website owner to change webpage words and images themselves, if they choose, whenever needed. There are thousands of templates available, delivering varying webpage styles, functions and quality; there are one's specific to accountants, beauticians, motorbike fanatics and so on.

Despite the many templates available, as Henry Ford eventually realised, people want unique products - one style doesn't fit all! A website tells people a little about you and your tastes and you might want the website to look or do things slightly differently to the template. For these reasons, you should choose to add template customisation so that your website can be truely unique to you or your business!

Joomla

Wordpress and Joomla can both be made to do similar things, from blogs to medium/large websites. Wordpress is simpler than Joomla for the user to change webpage content and blogs are ready to go, out of the box!  However WP is more barebones in terms of its functionality and some degree of
customisation is nearly always needed to plug-in the functionality you need. Search engine friendliness, mobile browser friendliness, these usually need plug-in modules and some customisation to make it work.

Joomla has many extras built in from scratch and has distinct advantages when used for online shops or product displays. Joomla is a little more complex to change webpage content but the end product outweighes this through producing a highly professional feel to the website. Ultimately both Wordpress and Joomla are excellent tools and your choice needs to be more down to the website's purpose and availability of a suitable template that
needs only minimal customisation to build a unique professional website.
